Quispe and Quake cereal sold in the same way they were originally published in 1965 by the Quaker Oats Company and generally advertised together (in the same sector), with their character mascot to compete against each other. Successful ads were cartoons created by Jay Ward and used some of the same voice actors Ward of Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoon series, including Daws Butler as the voice of Quispe and William Conrad as the voice of Quake.
